Reserved resources guide
An operations guide for users and admins in organizations with reserved capacity enabled. For the concept and comparison of pricing types, see Pricing model.
How to adopt it
Reserved offerings are available only through sales. Sales works with you on conditions based on your usage goals, capacity size, and term; once the contract is in place, the reserved capacity is applied to your organization.
Self-service creation or editing of reserved offerings is not supported.
Looking up the reserved price list
Open Billing > Price list to see the price list applied to your organization. Both reserved and on-demand prices are shown side by side for comparison.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Resource | Compute / Block storage / Block storage DR / Public IP |
| Product | Priced item including detailed spec (GPU type, vCPU count, memory size, etc.) |
| Zone | Zone where the resource is provided |
| Price / unit | Hour / GiB Hour (GiB × hour) / IP Hour (IP × hour) |
| Start / End date | Reservation validity. Not usable before start or after end |
If reserved is not set up for your organization, the price list only shows on-demand prices. The official ECI price list is at Elice Cloud price list.
Reserved resource status
Open Infrastructure > Resource Status > Reserved to check how the reserved capacity allocated to your organization is being used.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Usage | Currently used capacity |
| Quota | Max capacity granted by the contract (cannot be exceeded) |
| Status | Available (between start and end date) / Not started yet / Expired |
Clicking a resource item shows the detail page listing the VMs, block storage, and public IPs currently using that reserved capacity.
Creating resources at the reserved rate
On VM, block storage, and public IP creation screens, pick Reserved or On-demand under Pricing type.
- If reserved quota remains, Reserved is selectable
- If quota is exceeded, only On-demand is selectable
Switching between on-demand and reserved is not supported (PRICING_TYPE_UPDATE_NOT_ALLOWED). To switch types, create the resource anew.
Expiration date and automatic shutdown
VMs created at the reserved rate display a Reserved badge and the expiration date on the VM detail page.
Once the expiration date passes, the reservation itself is deactivated and VMs created under it can no longer be used. To avoid an outage, do one of the following before expiration:
- Renew the reservation: ask sales to extend the term
- Clean up: delete the resource or recreate as on-demand before expiration
Billing and usage records
Reserved costs are settled per the contract and are not included in the Usage and billing page. Check reserved usage details with sales.
