Pioneering defense AX with an AI full-stack that combines modular AI data centers and cloud virtualization solutions

Elice Inc., an AI full-stack company providing AI infrastructure, cloud, and industry-specific solutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MakinaRocks, a physical AI company, to collaborate on AX (AI Transformation) in the defense and broader industrial sectors.

The partnership aims to lead AI-driven transformation in the highly security-sensitive defense domain and extend this success across industries such as manufacturing, energy, and finance. Under the agreement, the two companies plan to create strong synergies by combining Elice’s AI full-stack capabilities—anchored by its cloud software ECI and AI PMDC (AI Portable Modular Data Center)—with MakinaRocks’ industry-specialized AI technologies.

Building a reliable AI operating system by integrating MakinaRocks’ AI OS “Runway”

The core area of cooperation is “Defense AX.” Elice and MakinaRocks will integrate MakinaRocks’ AI OS “Runway (MakinaRocks Runway)” into a high-security cloud environment built on ECI (Elice Cloud Infrastructure), establishing a robust AI operating system that can be safely deployed even in closed, air-gapped networks where security is paramount. ECI is an AI cloud virtualization solution designed to maximize both security and efficiency, providing a high-security environment that flexibly manages large-scale GPU resources while ensuring strong data protection. Through this approach, the partners plan to deliver high-performance AI solutions that can be applied directly to defense scenarios.

Expanding AX solution business into security-critical industries such as manufacturing, energy, and finance

The two companies will also strengthen collaboration on the infrastructure side by integrating Elice’s AI modular data center “Elice AI PMDC” with MakinaRocks’ vertical AI solutions. This will enable the advanced deployment and operation of AI models in on-premise and edge computing environments, and drive ongoing technical enhancement in these settings.

Starting with the defense sector, Elice and MakinaRocks intend to expand their AX solution business into other industries where security and reliability are critical, including manufacturing, energy, and finance. The companies also plan to pursue multifaceted cooperation such as talent exchange and co-hosted seminars.
