Recognized for unique technology, including under 1% virtualization overhead and clustering of up to 10,000 GPUs

Elice Inc., an AI full-stack company providing AI infrastructure, cloud, and industry-specific solutions, announced that its sovereign AI cloud platform ECI (Elice Cloud Infrastructure) has received the Minister’s Award from the Ministry of Science and ICT at the 33rd Korea Impact Tech Awards ceremony held at COEX in Seoul on April 22.

The Korea Impact Tech Awards is one of Korea’s most prestigious ICT award programs, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Established in 1994, the awards recognize outstanding companies and individuals that contribute to the advancement of digital convergence technologies in Korea, with the goal of fostering new growth engines in the ICT sector and expanding the foundations of related industries.

Elice was honored with the award in recognition of the technological excellence of ECI, its sovereign AI cloud platform developed with proprietary technology. ECI lowers dependence on global big tech cloud providers and presents a next-generation cloud model that allows governments and enterprises to securely control their own data.

Serving over 5,200 customer organizations, contributing to national data sovereignty and accelerated AX

At the core of ECI is its proprietary VM-based SDI (Software-Defined Infrastructure) management layer, which keeps performance degradation (virtualization overhead) in virtualized environments under 1%, effectively delivering physical server–level compute performance. ECI also supports ultra-high-speed virtual clustering over both traditional high-speed networks such as InfiniBand and highly versatile, Ethernet-based multi-network architectures. Leveraging this, ECI can cluster up to 10,000 GPUs into a single virtual cluster, dramatically shortening training times for ultra-large-scale AI models.

Today, Elice Cloud has demonstrated operational stability with more than 5,200 customer organizations, and has obtained CSAP IaaS security certification. This enables the platform to safeguard data sovereignty and accelerate AX in security-critical public and education sectors.

Additionally, ECI provides an AI environment that connects enterprises’ existing on-premise assets with the cloud at dedicated-line levels of performance, delivering both economic efficiency and operational effectiveness in infrastructure management.

Jungkook Park, CTO of Elice, said,

“We are delighted that the excellence of our high-performance neo-cloud architecture, which combines the modular AI data center Elice AI PMDC with ECI technology, has been formally recognized through this award,” and added,
“We will continue to innovate so that we can protect data as a national strategic asset and help Korea’s AI ecosystem grow independently, creating new growth engines for the AI industry.”

This latest recognition follows Elice’s receipt of the Presidential Citation for Meritorious Service in ICT and the Minister of Science and ICT Citation in the Cloud Industry Advancement category in 2025, underscoring not only the company’s contributions to activating the AI ecosystem but also the strength of its innovative technologies.
