Elice AI PMDC adopts high-performance RoCEv2 to maximize AI infrastructure efficiency

Elice Inc., an AI full-stack company led by CEO Jae Won Kim, has teamed up with global AI networking company Arista Networks Korea (Country Manager Sejin Kim) to become the first in Korea to implement large-scale GPU clustering over Ethernet.

On April 1, at Elice Inc.’s headquarters, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaboration on next-generation AI networking technologies. The agreement aims to transition large-scale AI infrastructure—traditionally dependent on expensive proprietary interconnects—to networks based on Ethernet, the global standard, thereby maximizing the economic efficiency of AI data centers and lowering barriers to entry for the Korean AI industry.

As AI models advance rapidly, networking technologies that connect thousands of GPUs into a single cluster have emerged as a critical factor determining the competitiveness of AI data centers. While the AI networking market has long relied on InfiniBand, a high-cost proprietary interconnect, leading global players are increasingly shifting toward Ethernet-based networks, which are more versatile and cost-effective.

AI infrastructure built on standard Ethernet to ensure cost efficiency and scalability

Under this MOU, the two companies will focus on building AI networks based on RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) v2. RoCEv2 is a next-generation core technology that maximizes data transfer performance on standard Ethernet networks and eliminates bottlenecks, enabling smooth execution of large-scale AI workloads.

The partners also plan to pursue various joint projects to commercialize advanced AI networking technologies. Elice Inc. will be an early adopter of RoCEv2-based high-performance networking within Elice Cloud, its AI-specialized cloud platform, and within Elice AI PMDC (Portable Modular Data Center), its mobile modular data center solution. Arista Networks Korea will leverage its proven global expertise in AI networking to provide high-performance network design and technical support.

Jungkook Park, CTO of Elice Inc., said,

“The core of AI infrastructure competitiveness lies in how efficiently tens of thousands of GPUs can exchange data. Through our collaboration with Arista, we will define an economical and efficient standard for AI infrastructure and help companies in Korea and around the world achieve AI transformation more easily and quickly.”

Sejin Kim, Country Manager of Arista Networks Korea, said,

“Our partnership with Elice Inc. is a key opportunity to drive innovation in AI data center networking based on RoCEv2. We will continue to expand our technological collaboration in the Korean market going forward.”
