The ‘AI Edu Hackathon’ held for two days on August 26th and 27th by Elice Inc. (CEO Jaewon Kim), an education practice platform company, ended successfully.
The theme of this hackathon, which was held for the first time by Elice Inc. since its foundation, was “Development of Educational Products Based on Generative AI,” with a total of 1,561 people participating to showcase various ideas based on generative AI. All developers in the back-end and front-end sectors who participated in the preliminary round were provided with an online coding test commentary session hosted by Elice Inc. CTO Park Jung-kook on the 17th.
The top 50 players who passed the preliminary round participated in the finals held at the Elice Lab Seongsu Center (K-Digital Platform, Digital Convergence Training Platform) over the weekend. After presenting ideas and team building through networking at the site, the process of developing and presenting AI products was carried out one after another. Mentoring sessions were also held to find directions for generative AI development and solve questions, and active communication between current and participants of various IT companies such as Elice Inc., Carrot Market, Job Planet, Rapo Labs, and Catchers, who participated as mentors.
The final screening was conducted by Kim Jae-won, CEO of Elice Inc., Kim Su-in, CRPO (Chief Research and Product Officer), Kim Chang-hyun, head of the backend team, and Yoon Joo-seop, judge of Altos Ventures. Planning, creativity, technology, completeness, and economic feasibility were evaluated in the evaluation.
The grand prize went to the development team of ‘A.ILearnEye’. When a learner reads, “A.ILearnEye” tracks the learner’s pupils through the front camera of a mobile phone or laptop, determines whether it is a word, and stores it in a vocabulary, and then provides interval learning in the form of a flash card. The judges appreciated the fact that it identifies the level of learners and provides customized learning, and the utilization of generative AI technology.
The “CertifAI” development team, which helps acquire a technician’s license by providing previous questions and accurate essay-type feedback with AI, was selected for the grand prize, and the team that developed “RIMI,” which provides personal branding insights and personal pages through generating AI, was selected for the excellence prize.
The winning team was awarded 10 million won for the grand prize, 5 million won for the grand prize, and 3 million won for the excellence prize. In addition to the award-winning team, IT companies in various fields, including Elice Inc., Carrot Market, Job Planet, I’m Web, Rapo Labs, and Catchers, who participated as mentors, will offer recruitment opportunities.
Kim Jae-won, CEO of Elice Inc., said, “We found hope that the future of generative AI that we will create with them is very bright as we can meet fresh and high-quality generative AI ideas at AI Edu hackathon.”
