Elice Inc. Releases 190-Billion-Token Korean AI Education Dataset on Hugging Face

By offering high-quality data optimized for training Korean AI models, Elice Inc. aims to support AI research and development in Korea and abroad, enabling broad use by researchers, developers, and enterprises. The newly released resources are two datasets designed to enhance large language models’ (LLMs) Korean performance in academic and educational domains: “Korean FineWeb-Edu Demo” and “Korean Web Text Education Dataset (Korean-webtext-edu).” The Korean FineWeb-Edu Demo is a sample dataset built from 5% of the korean-translated-fineweb-edu-dedup corpus, which is a Korean translation of FineWeb-Edu, an English educational web text corpus. It is designed for training Korean LLMs in academic and educational domains and is provided as a demo to validate data characteristics and potential applications before large-scale training. The source dataset, korean-translated-fineweb-edu-dedup, is a large-scale text corpus of approximately 190 billion (190B) tokens, equivalent to tens of millions of pages. When used together with multilingual data, it reaches a scale suitable for training foundation models. While the newly released Korean FineWeb-Edu Demo contains only a 5% sample of this corpus, it still ranks among the largest high-quality open-source Korean datasets currently available. The Korean Web Text Education Dataset (Korean-webtext-edu), released alongside the demo, is built by filtering large-scale Korean web text to retain only content that passes an educational value threshold. Its construction involved evaluating factual accuracy, contextual consistency, and educational suitability, making it well-suited for training Korean AI models. Large-scale open-source Korean datasets to lower barriers to AI research and expand adoptionThis dataset release is grounded in Elice Inc.’s accumulated experience across AI infrastructure, model training, and applications in education and industry. Through these datasets, Elice Inc. seeks to lower the barriers to entry in Korean AI research while supporting broader adoption of Korean AI models in education, research, and the public sector. The company also plans to leverage its strengths in AI infrastructure, cloud, and data engineering to accelerate the development of Korean-specialized AI services and solutions. Suin Kim, Chief Research Officer (CRO) at Elice Inc., who led the dataset development, said, “Data accessibility and quality are core drivers of progress in AI technology. Elice Inc. Successfully Completes Large-Scale Demonstration of Education-Specialized AI Agent Based on Domestic NPU

Validated feasibility of applying domestic NPUs in real-world education settings through the “AI Semiconductor Application Demonstration Support Project”Elice Inc. (CEO Jae Won Kim), an AI full-stack company providing AI infrastructure, cloud, and industry-specific solutions, has successfully completed the 2025 “AI Semiconductor Application Demonstration Support Project.” In this project, Elice Inc. applied an education-specialized generative AI service to domestically developed AI semiconductors whose performance the company had directly optimized to a practical, real-world level, and verified the results at scale. The demonstration is significant in that it both proves the effectiveness of domestic NPU–based AI applications in the education sector and enables the accumulation of optimization and operational know-how for domestic NPUs. This project was conducted as part of the “AI Semiconductor Application Demonstration Support Project” supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). Based on a prototype domestic NPU, Elice Inc. built an NPU farm and cloud infrastructure, and used it to implement AI agents for textbook information verification and education-focused Q&A. According to performance verification by an accredited testing institution, the AI application service exceeded its targets across all items in the AI application model evaluation. The AI agent used in the demonstration is characterized by enhanced accuracy, reliability, and safety, tailored to the specific needs of educational environments. Elice Inc. constructed a high-quality Korean language–specialized dataset based on large-scale data, and on this foundation implemented:A Fact Checker that verifies whether content is consistent with textbook-based factsA Relevance Checker that blocks questions that are unrelated to textbook context or malicious in natureA Tone Changer that converts answers into a learner-friendly tone while maintaining grammatical accuracyA single company building the full lifecycle from NPU farm and cloud infrastructure to AI models and servicesThe project stands out in that a single company directly handled the entire end-to-end process—from building AI semiconductor infrastructure and training AI models to implementing education-specialized application services. Leveraging its own AI data center, “Elice AI PMDC,” Elice Inc. independently configured servers based on domestic AI semiconductors and a dedicated cloud environment, and on top of this implemented fully integrated AI model training and service operations. Through this process, the company accumulated practical experience in performance optimization, resource allocation, and service stabilization for systems based on domestic NPUs. “Through this demonstration, we have confirmed that education-specific generative AI agents can achieve sufficient performance and reliability even in environments built on domestic NPUs,” said Jae Won Kim, CEO of Elice Inc. “Going beyond chip adoption, we have strengthened our capabilities to implement the entire lifecycle—from AI semiconductor infrastructure to AI application services—using our own technology, based on the experience of direct optimization and large-scale demonstrations. We will continue to contribute to the expansion of the domestic AI semiconductor ecosystem and its industrial adoption.” Looking ahead to the second year of the project, Elice Inc. plans to further improve AI agent response speed and conduct demonstrations with large-scale LLMs. Starting with education, the company also intends to expand the application of domestic NPU–based AI services across the public sector and a broad range of industries.

Elice Inc. Selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ “2025 Scale-up TIPS R&D” Program

KRW 1.2 billion in R&D funding over three years to accelerate development of high-reliability AI document processing technology specialized for manufacturingElice Inc., a full-stack AI company providing AI infrastructure and cloud, AI models, and industry-specific solutions, has been selected for the “2025 Scale-up TIPS R&D” program organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS). With this selection, Elice plans to accelerate the advancement of AI technologies tailored for the manufacturing sector by leveraging the secured R&D and commercialization funding. The Scale-up TIPS program, overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA), is a technology growth program in which the government and private investors jointly discover and foster promising, technology-intensive startups and SMEs entering a full-scale growth phase. The general R&D type, for which Elice was selected, is a core support category focused on national strategic technologies, global AI competitiveness, and innovative AI companies. Targeting the Asian manufacturing market with full-stack AI capabilities from infrastructure and models to industry-specific solutionsElice was highly recognized for its full-stack competitiveness, which includes AI infrastructure design capabilities optimized for industrial environments, stable private cloud operation, and the in-house development and operation of AI models and solutions tailored to specific industry challenges. In particular, the company’s specialized AI model “Helpy Struct,” which can precisely extract and structure complex tables, drawings, and document data, along with multiple proprietary specialized AI models and solutions, were evaluated highly in terms of technological strength and business potential, leading to its selection for the Scale-up TIPS program. Through this selection, Elice will receive a total of KRW 1.2 billion in R&D support over the next three years. The company plans to develop a high-reliability intelligent document processing (IDP) technology for the manufacturing industry that integrates Vision-Language Models (VLM) and multi-agent models on top of a private AI infrastructure. This technology will implement the entire process—from document collection and interpretation to verification and system integration—within a single AI pipeline, addressing productivity loss issues in manufacturing environments. Elice aims to reduce misreading and misapplication of complex manufacturing documents with a single AI model, while implementing multi-layer AI agent cross-verification mechanisms to control AI hallucinations and achieve over 99% reliability. In addition, the company seeks to enhance versatility through zero-shot capabilities that enable immediate processing of new and complex manufacturing document formats without additional training. With this project, Elice plans not only to accelerate the AI transformation of Korea’s manufacturing industry but also to actively expand into global markets. The company will focus on strengthening document processing performance for languages where general-purpose LLMs are relatively weak—such as Japanese and various Southeast Asian languages—in order to secure a competitive edge in the Asian manufacturing market. Elice Becomes the First Korean Company to Win Singapore Ministry of Education’s Digital Textbook Development Project

Elice to commence development of IDT prototype led by Singapore’s Ministry of EducationElice Inc. (CEO Jae Won Kim) has become the first Korean AI education solutions company to win a digital textbook (IDT, Interactive Digital Textbook) development project led by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), further strengthening its position in the global education market. Elice has successfully secured the project after intense competition in the public tender for the development of a digital textbook system issued by the Singapore MOE. Over the next six months, the company will develop a prototype for use in Singaporean secondary schools and conduct validation tests in local classrooms. This project aims to leverage AI technologies to advance teaching and learning environments in line with the Singapore MOE’s educational digital transformation roadmap.
