Elice and Rebellions sign MOU to promote domestic AI semiconductor ecosystem

Expanding cooperation from building NPU cloud platform to exporting data centers overseas based on experience in building Elice PMDC

Elice, an AI solution company, and Rebellions, an AI semiconductor company, have signed a business agreement to mutually cooperate in revitalizing the domestic AI semiconductor ecosystem.

Elice, which has been building AI-specific cloud infrastructure and strengthening its technical capabilities, will conduct technical cooperation to build the Rebellions NPU cloud platform. In addition, they will work together to develop and spread business models so that AI services applied to domestic and international education and industry can be developed based on Rebellions NPU.

Based on Elice’s PMDC(Portable Modular Data Center) development and operation capabilities, they will also explore ways to export data centers to various overseas countries. Compared to existing data centers, Elice Cloud’s PMDCs are more flexible in terms of construction and operation, as they can be expanded as needed in modules, and their power density and PUE are as good as hyperscale data centers, making them highly efficient in resource utilization.

Cooperation from research and development of AI services based on Rebellions NPU to industry stabilization through education

With this agreement, the two companies will continue their cooperation beyond technology to expand their business in various areas such as education. The AI model of the AI digital textbook being developed by Elice will be developed based on Rebellions NPU, and AI training and hackathons for glocal universities and employees will be promoted. The plan is to promote NPU-utilizing services from research and development to establishment in the industry through education.

Jae-won Kim, the CEO of Elice, has stated that the collaboration between Elice, a company that is consistently researching and developing AI infrastructure, platforms, and AI models, and Rebelions, a company that specializes in developing high-performance NPUs, is expected to accelerate the growth of both companies in both technical and business aspects. He has further stated that Elice will collaborate with Rebelions to expand the domestic AI semiconductor ecosystem and introduce new business models in various industries. The goal of this collaboration is to showcase the competitiveness of domestic AI companies to the global market.
