Enhancing Educational Accessibility for Hearing-Impaired Teachers through AI Technology
Providing Real-Time Automatic Captions via EliceCloud for Hearing-Impaired Teachers to Participate in Training
Elice, Inc. (CEO Kim Jae-won), an AI education solution company, has created a training environment where hearing-impaired teachers can participate without difficulty using Elice Cloud and AI voice recognition real-time captioning in Elice School teacher training.
This AI feature was developed to address the challenges faced by hearing-impaired teachers participating in Elice School training. After receiving feedback from hearing-impaired teachers about the need for sign language interpreters, the company decided to develop a long-term solution rather than a short-term fix.
Elice, Inc. introduced a generative AI function that recognizes lecture audio and generates real-time captions in the Elice School LXP teacher training platform. With over 90% voice-to-text conversion accuracy, hearing-impaired teachers can now accurately understand lecture content through real-time captions. The feature is notably provided stably through Elice Cloud-based generative AI.
A hearing-impaired teacher who used this feature shared, “Thanks to Elice’s AI function, I could comfortably listen to the instructor’s words without missing anything and actively participate in the practical sessions. This is the first training that has actively supported hearing-impaired teachers, and I was touched by Elice’s delicate disability sensitivity in providing such a useful feature.”
Utilizing AI Technology in Nationwide Educational Office Teacher Training, Offering Optimized Infrastructure
Elice School, which has been actively operating teacher training with educational offices in Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Gangwon, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong since 2024, plans to develop various functions to strengthen digital accessibility for teachers. Elice is creating an environment where anyone can participate in education regardless of disabilities, developing multimodal AI models that accurately describe images for those with visual difficulties.
Elice, Inc. CEO Kim Jae-won stated, “We aim to create an unrestricted educational environment through AI technology and establish a virtuous cycle where many people learn to utilize AI technology through education. We will continue to develop barrier-free features to build a comprehensive educational environment that can be conveniently used by teachers nationwide and many more users.”
